Gomti Ghat & Sudama Setu in Dwarka: Holy Snan, Boating & River Confluence

Gomti Ghat, located right at the foot of the Dwarkadhish Temple's Swarg Dwar, is one of the most picturesque and sacred riverfronts in Gujarat. Here, the holy Gomti River flows gently for its final stretch before merging into the vast waters of the Arabian Sea. Taking a holy bath (snan) in the waters of Gomti Ghat is believed to cleanse spiritual impurities before ascending the 56 steps into the Jagat Mandir.

Connecting the bustling temple ghats to the quiet sand dunes of the southern beach is Sudama Setu, an impressive pedestrian suspension cable bridge named after Lord Krishna’s childhood friend. Walking across Sudama Setu provides sweeping panoramic views of the entire Dwarkadhish Temple shikhar, the colorful river ghats, and the open sea horizon.

On the other side of Sudama Setu, visitors can enjoy gentle camel rides and ATV rides across the soft coastal sand dunes, or visit the historic Chakratirtha and Samudra Narayana Temple (Sangam Mandir), which stands precisely at the confluence where river and ocean waters meet. Pilgrims also board colorful wooden paddle and motorboats at the ghats for scenic river tours to feed sea birds and watch fish swim in the clear waters.

In the evening, the steps of Gomti Ghat are illuminated by brass lamps during the daily Gomti Aarti, accompanied by the gentle sound of temple bells and evening ocean breezes.
